A lot of energy has been put into the important factor to offer the participants new maps and new types of terrain for an ultimate orienteering experience.
- When the runners have reached the pine moors on the final stretches on stage one and two they will have come across many terrain types in the forest. In places it is really nice with open forest and flat rocks while other parts are greener and stonier, says course setter Stefan Larsson.
Stage one which goes to the east of Glössbo, touches upon the area for where stage two took place in 2006. Both stage one and stage two has their final stretches in the open pine moors where the Superelit event “Mästarmötet" took place in 2006. In other parts the terrain is untouched by eager O-Ringen runners. The nice and fast terrain around Arena Glössbo enables younger runners and others who run shorter courses to get excellent orienteering experiences.
- In conclusion you can call it a good orienteering challenge in mixed terrain and with lots of variation. The maps are new and fresh and partly not even drawn yet, says Stefan Larsson (October 2009).
