80 start places are available in each class. The top 50 runners from the spring elite series qualify automatically. The Elite organisation will then appoint the remaining places to foreign runners and so called "wild cards".
Runners that do not qualify for these classes will be moved to the long classes, H21L and D21L. If there is more than one long class the runners will be divided based on ranking. The long class L1 will be included in the elite series if runners have been moved down to this class.
On top of this there will be 72,000 SEK in daily prizes.
For stages 1, 2 and 4 the winner will be awarded 4,000 SEK, 2nd place 2,000 SEK and 3rd place 1,000 SEK.
The stage 3 winner will get 5,000 SEK, 2nd place 4,000 SEK, 3rd place 3,000 SEK, 4th place 2,000 SEK and 5th place 1,000 SEK.
The first 4 stages will also give the opportunity for extra points for the "top 6" for each stage. Stage winner = 7 points, 2nd place = 5 points, 3rd place = 4 points, 4th place = 3 points, 5th place = 2 points and 6th place = 1 point.
This means that if you win all days, and overall 98 points will be awarded.
Long class L1 will count in the elite series if runners have been moved down to this course. The winners of stages 1-4 will be warded 2 points/stage and the top 10 will be awarded points counting down from 10 points based on the overall result. This means that if you win stages 1-4 and overall you will be awarded 18 points.
Special rules:
If a runner does not start, retires or is disqualified they cannot start the following stages. However, they can keep the elite series points and prize money they have already earned.
