O-Ringen Town
The perfect combination of being close to the town, the sea, and the forest describes the area that will be being used for the O-Ringen town in Halmstad 2012. As a starting point for competitions, parties and other fun events the O-Ringen town at Galgberget will offer access to community, accomodation and transport, everything to make the O-Ringen week in Halmstad as good a memory as possible.
High above Halmstad, we'll gather for competitions, accomodation, socialising, trading and ceremonies. The O-Ringen town 2012 will be located in the middle of Halmstad on Galgberget, the city's green lung and the location of varios Armed Forces' offices. The O-Ringen town will form the hub around the O-Ringen Festival. This bustling hub is close to most things, the city sprint competitions, the award ceremonies, the AXA-relay etc. We are working on plans for the O-Ringen town which intends to create a place where everything that characterizes and distinguishes the O-Ringen comes into play and where the camp will operate satisfactorily regardless of weather conditions.
Galgberget
Galgberget is Halmstad's most central recreational area with paths and running tracks in beautiful beech forest and with a wonderful view over the summer town of Halmstad and it's beautiful beaches, which are within walking and cycling distance. The main area of the campsite will be localised in Galgberget. Class and stage winners will receive their prizes in the middle of this area at Landalasjön, situated on the edge of the campsite and the O-Ringen square.
The O-Ringen square, and even the majority of camping sites, will be in the Armed Forces area, which has the advantage of hard standing and even a high level of security against uninvited guests. From Galgberget there are buses to the competition stages and cycle routes which lead to the closer stages (3, 4 and 5). Parking will be available within walking distance of the O-Ringen square and even the prize giving area.
