THE O-RINGEN TOWN
As a hub and a natural gathering place is Borås Arena, where the plants are ready for press and media. The area contains access to halls that offers indoor space for the competition expedition, fairs, trade fair and a restaurant. The goal is to create a forum for orienteers of all ages and also a meeting place between sponsors / orienteering / new orienteers. The idea is that at least one of the stages will finish in the stadium. In the area which is a commercial sports center (Knalleland) there is ample supply of parking spaces in order to handle vast amounts of visitors.
CAMPING AND ACCOMMODATION
Borås offers the potential for accomodation close to the town and the camp site will be on a surface that works in all weather. In connection with the camp site there are also amenities such as indoor showers and toilets. The camping area will be in the scenic area around Viskan, from Öresjö in the north to Lundby sports area in the south. These places will have a maximum distance of about 2.5 km to the O-Ringen Square.
TERRAIN
We have carefully selected competition areas for the orienteering. We want to take the O-ringen back to the forest. We presently have seven areas as prospective venues with varying types of terrain. This is to secure us against unforeseen events such as winter storms. The maps will be newly produced for the O-ringen and Borås and the surrounding area boasts several recognized talented cartographers and course planners.
