A big adventure is closer than you think

Live the outdoor life with fishing, hiking and exciting adventures. There are possibilities to beautiful nsture experiences here, both in the closest surroundings and just outside of Boden. Take yourselves out on your own or turn to one of our local organisers.
Ecopark Storklinten is a large natural area with good hiking possibilities in various terrain, with high mountains, marshes and a rich fauna and flora. Along the trails are remnants from ancient times. If you follow the trail up to Gruvberget you can find mines from the 1700s.
You can fish in many areas in the municipality. Some of the country's best fishing waters are Luleå river from Boden's power station and south. There is salmon, trout, whitefish and grayling here. At Camp Svanis the luck with fish is often high. You can not only fish but also canoe and experience different wilderness experiences. At the Getronosan facility, just below the Raven rapids in Råne river you can fish and do other activities.
In Abborrtjörns own lake you have the chance to catch nice char, Along the river Råne there are even the impressive rapids, Brännbergsfallet and Lassbyforsen. A calmer experience is paddling the canoe trail in Skogsån.

In Flakaberg you can experience a lot of the Sami culture by visiting the reindeer enclosures, take part in old tales and stay the night in a tent next to lake Gorgiim. If you like climbing there is nice climbing at Åberget. Another good tips is to join a tour to the places that were previously defense secrets. The bus tour goes once a week through July. Book via the tourist information. In the municipality there are more organisers who can guide you right and adapt the packet. Arctic fishing, Arctic Adventure and Fishingnorth are some of the companies that can help you reach some of the large adventures.
