The arena for Stage 2 of the MTBO O-Ringen races is located adjacent to the well-known spa hotel Selma Spa, named after Literature Nobel Prize winner Selma Lagerlöf, just outside the town of Sunne.
This map was also specially made for MTBO, although an older foot-orienteering map of this area also exists.
The competition area is criss-crossed by a number of smaller and larger trails that are used for cross-country skiing in the winter and for hiking and running in the summer. This area is very steep and was used for the Swedish Championships in cross-country skiing in 1995. Correct route choices will be challenging to pick out among the steep, zigzagging trail network that crosses numerous ridges and valleys.
During this middle distance stage, your pulse is guaranteed to climb high on the interesting legs with many route choice options and on a variety of trails of various width and quality.
