Selection for D18 Elit 1, H18 Elit 1, D20 Elit 1 and H20 Elit 1

Classes D20 Elit 2 and H20 Elit 2 are cancelled. This means runners in these classes will get an offer to run in Elit 1 class, or another class (e.g. D20/H20).

For the classes D18 Elit 1 and H18 Elit 1, the following selection rules will apply:

  • Entries to the D/H18 Elit 1 at O-Ringen Sälen 2016 is open until Friday 22nd of July at 12.00. 120 competitors per class are selected.
  • A ranking list based on entries and federation’s ranking lists as of 1st of July, will be published 8th of July. Not that the ranking list is a preliminary list, only aiming to present the current status.
  • A final selection list including 120 runners, based on entries until 22nd of July at 12.00 and the national federation’s ranking lists as of 1st of July will be published 23rd of July. At the same time, reserve lists per nation are published.

Ranking list published 8th of July

The ranking list will be published 8th of July and is based on entries until 1st of July. The list is organized according to below:

  • Runners selected for EYOC 2016 or JWOC 2016 are granted place
  • Runners are ranked according to the national federation’s ranking lists, where every nation will receive a defined number of nation places according to below:

Proportion of nation places = (Proportion of top 50 places at O-Ringen 2015 + Proportion of entries in the class for the nation as of 1st of June 2016) / 2

Number of nation places = Proportion of nation places * (115 – Number of JWOC/EYOC runners)

If a nation has not enough signed up runners to meet the number of nation places, these nation places are distributed among the other nations through drawing, weighted against the proportion of nation places.

Example: 31 runners in the class D18 Elit 1 participated at JWOC or EYOC 2016. These are granted places in the class. This means 115 – 31 = 84 places remains to distribute. Sweden had 48% among top 50 in D18E at O-Ringen 2015, and 1st of June 72% of the signed up runners were Swedish. This means the number of nation places for Sweden is 60% * 84 runners = 50 runners. These runners are selected according to the Swedish ranking list as of 1st of July. JWOC/EYOC runners are excluded from the list.

The number of nation places, based on above, is as below:
