Karin Gustafsson from Strängnäs-Malmby OL has been number one in W70 all week or .... she doesn't really give her competitors a chance to win that often. Today she took her 16th, yes you read right, 16th overall victory. The first she took here in Norrköping in 1987.
With 24.09 minutes lead Karin ran out on the beautiful Ågelsjö mountain.
- It was really fun orienteering today, says Karin.
The closest behind was Britt Linnea Eriksson from Sala OK and Maria Ehn from Tullinge SK.
When asked what it is that makes her perform on a high level over and over again through different age classes and through life's changes, from a parent with a toddler to a veteran, Karin replies that the trick is not to miss any controls and when it comes to O-ringen being evenly throughout the week is important.
Today, Karin share the sweetness of the victory with her daughter Annica Gustafsson from IFK Lidingö OK the total winner in D35. Last time they were here in Norrköping and competed in O-Ringen, Annica stayed at the childcare when Karin took her first overall victory.
Today, mother and daughter stand together and receive the audience's cheers.
