Here you will find common questions about the two campgrounds offered during O-Ringen.
We offer two campgrounds: Central camping in Örnsköldsvik city center and Svedjeholmens camping, a more traditional O-Ringen camping.
Central camping: The central camping is divided into several smaller areas. The campsites are located close to the city centre and the O-Ringen Square. The maximum distance is about 1.5 kilometers from the O-Ringen square. At the central campsite there are about 800 campsites. Toilets, showers and sanitary stations will be available within walking distance. The ground varies in different locations and may be grass, gravel, or asphalt.
Svedjeholmens camping: Svedjeholmens camping is approximately 6 kilometers from the O-Ringen square. At that campsite there are about 1500 campsites. There will be kiosks, showers and sanitary stations in the area. There will be a bus service between Svedjeholmens camping and the O-Ringen Square. All campsites are on grass.
There will be a bus route between Svedjeholmens camping and the O-Ringen Square. The buses will go every 10 minutes, both from Svedjeholmen and central Örnsköldsvik. The buses will run between 15:00 and 21:00. The bus trip takes just 10 minutes one way. You can also travel by bike, walk or travel by car.
The central campsite is located on several different open spaces in the centre of Örnsköldsvik. About one third of the sites are on grass, one third are on gravel, and one third are on asphalt. As we prioritize keping club areas together, we can’t guarantee specific ground conditions for individual bookings. However, after the club assignment is made, we will publicize the ground conditions for each club's area.
As the surface at the campground varies between asphalt, gravel and grass, we will provide timber so that the tent can be installed irrespective of the surface.
In terms of roads and traffic, most campsites are not close to major roads, however two of the areas are located near the E4 which is a major road.
"Halvruta" is Swedish for a half camping space. These campsite “boxes” are intended only for those who choose to live in tent. A tent and a regular sized car can fit in the box. A camper van / RV is too big. At Svedjeholmens camping you can stay with your club even if you choose a halvruta site. This is not possible at the central campsite. All halvruta spots at the central campground are concentrated in certain areas with grass surface where everyone who chooses tent camping will live.
Yes, you can search here for clubs or individual participants to find which campground and type of area they booked.
When booking a campsite, always indicate which club you want to camp with. You can therefore choose to share an area of the campground with your own club or with another club.
Yes, there are both types of campsites at the central campground and at Svedjeholmens camping. In total there are about 800 spots with electricity, of which almost half can be found at the central campsite. However, we cannot guarantee that club members who choose sites with or without electricity can get spots next to each other. If you want to be sure to share you club's area at the campsite, you must decide whether you want electricity or not, and whether you want to live in the central campsite or in the traditional campsite.
Based on bookings made before June 1st, the clubs are assigned to different surfaces. Everyone in a club that has chosen central camping and electricity will end up in the same place. Everyone who has chosen central camping and non-electricity will be in the same place. Similarly, the assignment takes place at Svedjeholmens camping. The club will be located in two different areas within the campground, electricity and non-electricity respectively. If you want to be sure to live together with the whole club, you must decide whether you want sites with or without electricity and whether you want to live in the central campsite or in the traditional campsite.
No. The extra large campsites are located in a special area. They are intended for larger caravans and camper vans, and the size of the surface means that they cannot be co-located with the usual 9 x 9-meter sites.
Yes. If you book a half-site (halvruta) at the central campground and intend to live in a tent, then you will be assigned a spot with a grassy surface. However, this means that you will not be able to live with your club if you choose a half-site at the central campsite. All those who are camping in tents will live in the same area at the central campground. At Svedjeholmens camping you can book a half-site and stay with the club.
During the competition days, security guards will walk around all the areas of the central campground in order to ensure security. In order to minimize the risk of theft, we recommend for all campers to keep their valuables well secured.
